Webinar 3: COVID-19 and Women in East Asia

December 17, 2020 (Thursday)
11:00 am – 12 noon Seoul/Kyoto, 9:00 am – 10:00 am Phnom Penh

How has COVID-19 been impacting women, and particularly women’s human security, in different parts of the East Asian region? In this webinar, we will hear cases from women leaders in Japan, Korea & Cambodia. 2020 is a significant milestone for the Women, Peace & Security Agenda, with the anniversaries of the United Nations Security Resolution 1325 and the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. What did the global pandemic mean for these landmarks and how did women adapt? How have women’s movements in East Asia taken innovative action during this challenging period? And what analysis must be kept in mind from a gender perspective as we move towards the “new normal”? Join the conversation in this webinar for more!
